On Thursday 2nd March, we celebrated World Book Day. Our theme across the Federation this year was favourite authors and the children came dressed accordingly. There was a wide variety of different costumes including a demon dentist, cats in hats, Mary Poppins, a variety of Roald Dahl characters as well as many, many more. The creativity was fantastic. The staff also joined in. They dressed in a variety of ways to reflect characters from famous books.

It was fantastic to see everyone in assembly when Reverend Huntley came to visit. He seemed very impressed by the assorted literary characters in front of him.

During the day, we shared stories and in the afternoon the children in Ash and Beech Class got together to read and create stories using the story sacks and characters we have in school (which have been brilliantly knitted by Mrs Chesterman and Mrs Grasby). In Holly class the children were able to create their own stories using Purple Mash on the laptops. Hazel Class also enjoyed storytelling. They wrote about and drew their favourite book characters as well as sharing their stories with their friends.

It was a hugely enjoyable day. Many thanks for all of your support. Your children looked fantastic and we appreciate all the effort that is put in to make World Book Day such a fantastic experience.
