On Friday Ashlands and Misterton enjoyed a marvellous day of medicine making and magical

mugglewhumping. It was a celebration of the 100th birthday of Roald Dahl and his wonderful story

telling. The children were introduced to a variety of stories and scientific fun based on the great man’s

books.

At Ashlands, there was some super mixture making in Hazel class with fizzwhizzing potions flooding out

of their jars, much to the delight of the children. Strange colours and glorious gloop were the order of

the day in Ash class as the children became scientists. In Holly the children watched with delight as fizzy

dinks exploded into the air. Finally in Beech class the children carried out fabulous experiments seeing

what might happen to sweets from the chocolate factory if they mixed with water, as well as protecting

the ice needed for keeping its confections cool.

In the afternoon we were delighted to be joined by so many parents for tea and frobscottle (well fizzy

drinks really!) in our classes. The children really enjoyed sharing their classrooms and the exciting

learning experiences they have had so far this term.

A gloriumptious time was had by all and we thank everybody who was able to join us.
