We all enjoyed a special day of activities to celebrate the Tour of Britain coming to Crewkerne. This included a ‘bring your bike or scooter to school day' where the children had the opportunity to ride their bikes around our own circuit in the playground. Also the Year 4 children performed a bicycle song as part of the Town Council's celebrations with other local schools. In addition the whole school went into the centre of Crewkerne to watch the race go past. As you can see from the photographs (click on them to make them bigger) everyone had a very memorable day!

Tour of Britain
Wednesday, 16 September 2009 09:24
You may be aware that the cycling ‘Tour of Britain' will be visiting Crewkerne on Friday 18th September. We have been invited to watch the race pass through Crewkerne and take part in a celebration of the event. We will all go down to watch the race in the afternoon and the children in Year 4 will be preparing a song to perform as part of the celebration.
To make it a special day we are going to invite the children to bring their bike or scooter to school and we will be setting up our own cycle track for the children to practice on. If you would like your child to take part please could they also bring a helmet to school. We will set up a special area where the cycles and scooters can be stored safely during the day.
