The Aims of the School Print
Sunday, 15 June 2008 07:44
Primary Education is concerned with the intellectual, emotional, social, physical and moral development of children. Our aim is to equip our pupils well in all these aspects of their development, so that they can lead full, happy and useful lives both now and in the future.

To encourage such development we seek to:

  • establish a happy and secure educational environment, based on respect and trust.
  • provide a broad and balanced curriculum
  • offer challenging and stimulating learning experiences
  • acknowledge that children of this age move towards the point where they can reason or think in an abstract manner by having opportunities to learn from direct experience (learning by doing)
  • ensure that learning experiences are developmental and appropriate to the needs of the individual
  • recognise that each child is an individual and that development will occur at different rates, at different times and in different ways for each pupil
  • arouse curiosity and develop initiative self-reliance and acceptance of responsibility
  • identify and address the potential of every child
  • encourage positive relationships
  • encourage parents to feel that the successful education of their children involves a close partnership between them and the school
  • take every opportunity to foster positive social and moral attitudes
