Welcome to Ashlands Church of England First School
I am very proud to welcome you to the website of Ashlands Church of England First School. We provide children between 4 and 9 years old with an exciting education within a happy, safe, stimulating and inclusive school community.
We are a Church of England School and are incredibly proud of our strong Christian ethos and the links with St. Bartholomew's Church in Crewkerne. We worship in the church several times each year to celebrate a number of events such as Harvest, Christmas, Easter as well as a joint leavers' service with St Bartholomew's and Misterton Schools. We hold a daily worship in school and are supported by members of the church and diocese who also lead regular worship sessions.
Set in the thriving market town of Crewkerne in the heart of the Somerset countryside, we are an important part of the local community and we pride ourselves on our Federation with Misterton Church of England First School. Our schools have a strong family ethos, we work hard to making learning challenging yet fun, and seek to develop strong links between staff, parents, governors and the wider community.
Within both schools, you will find a happy, welcoming, stimulating environment providing high standards of education, valuing the efforts of the individual, fulfilling the learning potential of all pupils and promoting equal opportunities. We promote learning for life and encourage children to learn no matter where they are, inside or out! We believe in developing the "whole" child and work hard to nurture, encourage, support and extend all of our children to achieve their very best.
Our approach encourages children to develop positive attitudes and an enthusiasm for learning. We are delighted that our children leave equipped with super initiative, self-discipline, self-esteem and independence!
